Top Ten Tips!

Posted on August 29, 2017
Here’s your annual Top Ten Tips for the best possible North Coast weekend.  Read below and be a pro!
1.) LOCATE THE TWO FREE WATER STATIONS
Be sure to check out the MAP and locate the two free water stations.  They are located behind the baseball diamond backstop closest to Main Gate and next to the basketball courts just east of the Skyline Stage.  Drinking water constantly and staying hydrated is a cornerstone to having the best possible NCMF weekend.
2.) DOWNLOAD THE APP – Help Us Reduce Waste
In an effort to reduce the waste created by our festival and keep our beloved home of Union Park clean, we will not be printing fest guide booklets this year, so the App is your primary source for last minute schedule changes and announcements.  Download the App for a direct line of info straight from the organizers, and handy map and more.  FREE for Android and iPhone.
3.) LOCKERS AVAILABLE
Be the hero of your Coastie crew and rent a locker for everyone to put their things in!  It coms with complimentary cell charging and if you pay for a multi-day rental you can leave your fest supplies in the locker over night!
4.) AFTERPARTIES
A few afterparties have already sold out but we still have something left for everyone!  Headliners playing small clubs, funky jambands, hip hop, techno, bass, artists that aren’t even playing the fest and all Coastie styles in between! The fest music ends at 10pm, but your night doesn’t have to!
5.) EARLY WILL CALL!
For any coasties that need to visit the Guestlist booth or Will Call, it will be open 4-8pm on THURSDAY and as early as 12pm on FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY.  Avoid lines and grab your tickets early.  There will be NO SALES at Will Call on THURSDAY. Just ticket pick up.
6.) GRAB MERCH EARLY
Every year we sell out of most of the merch items and this year we’ve enlisted some of the freshest up and coming street artists in Chicago to create a custom collection so this year should be no different.  You can preview just a few of the items here.
7.) DON’T GET SCAMMED
Every year some poor Coastie has to be turned away at the gates because they wasted their money on a fake ticket or fake credential off someone on the street.  Don’t be that Coastie. There are NEVER any legitimate All Access, Artist, Media, Press, or Production passes for sale.  Don’t be fooled.  Only purchase your tickets from our official ticketing partner, SeeTickets.us.
8.) VIP UPGRADES AVAILABLE
If you find yourself at the festival and a possible Coastie connection is brewing, we got your back.  Pull a pro-move and upgrade to VIP!  Or just upgrade because you deserve it!  It’s Summer’s Last Stand, go big! VIP Upgrades will be available at the VIP area entrance between the North stage and Skyline stage. Check out all that VIP has to offer!
9.) DON’T SNOOZE ON THE ART GALLERIES
We’re really proud of our Living Gallery that has been a part of North Coast since year 1, our Pop-Up Gallery which was added last year, showcasing talent from the greater Chicago-land area and our new Art Installations that will be peppered throughout the fest grounds.  Be sure to take a break from dancing and check out both areas.  One of the Silent Disco channels is curated by the Living Gallery producers so you can checkout the art while vibing out to some beats!
10.) WE’RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER + PARTY RESPONSIBLY
Festival weekend is a marathon, not a sprint.  So take your time reaching your peak party level.  Take breaks from dancing.  Grab some shade. Eat food. Be sure to drink water constantly.  If someone looks like they need water, please share with them.  No one will ever get in trouble for bringing your concerns about another Coastie’s health to an official at the festival.  So if you see something that doesn’t feel right, trust your instinct and tell the closest festival staff member.  Our festival emergency hotline is 312.273.2894 and is a direct line to our security.  For other festival related matters you can email community@northcoastfestival.com. Also, please be quite upon exiting the festival each day. It’s up to everyone, the fans and the organizers, to ensure we keep North Coast going!
